Manchester United are set to face County Antrim on Friday in the final of the Junior Section of SuperCupNI.
The Reds went out at an earlier stage in last year’s edition of the prestigious tournament, but have recovered from an opening day defeat this time round to get to the main final.
United beat County Armagh 2-0 in Thursday night’s semi-final in Coleraine, with goals from George Walters and Manni Norkett.
In the group stage, United had been beaten by County Londonderry before a 1-0 win against Rangers and a 3-0 victory against Club NI.
The Junior Section of SuperCupNI means players born in the year 2004, or later.
United were long-term regulars at the Milk Cup tournament during the 1990s and 2000s but pulled out of it a few years ago, before returning last year. The experience of playing in front of large crowds is fantastic for players this young.
SuperCupNI is the Milk Cup reformatted. After group stages in each age section, teams qualify for a secondary tournament with the main SuperCupNI Cup being the most prestigious, ahead of the Globe, Vase, Bowl and Salver.
