Scorer(s): Angel Gomes 26′, Nishan Burkart 59′

Goals either side of half-time for Man United saw the Reds win a second consecutive game in the U18 Premier League.

Kieran McKenna’s side beat Stoke City at the Cliff before the international break, and Angel Gomes curled a beauty in from the edge of the box after 26 minutes to start things in the right way.

Brandon Williams had had an early penalty shout after tumbling in the box, but the referee waved play on immediately.

Nishan Burkart doubled United’s lead with a cool finish just before the hour-mark, and McKenna’s boys held on comfortably.

United play Newcastle United next in the U18 Premier League, on September 23rd. With a game-in-hand on all the teams above them, United are 6th with six points after three games.

Before that comes this group of players’ first UEFA Youth League game, against Basel at Leigh Sports Village on Tuesday afternoon.
