Portuguese newspaper O Jogo report that goalkeeper Joel Pereira has signed a new contract at Manchester United.
Pereira, 21, had been linked and targeted by Portugal’s top three clubs; FC Porto, Benfica and Sporting.
But O Jogo say he has extended his current contract to 2021, having been set to see his deal expire next summer.
José Mourinho is a big admirer of Pereira. He tipped him to be the best Portuguese goalkeeper of his generation and gave him a debut in the FA Cup as a substitute as well as starting him against Crystal Palace in the final game of the Premier League season.
Pereira enjoyed a good spell on loan at Portuguese club Belenenses last season, earning the attention of Benfica in particular, before being recalled by United to allow Sam Johnstone to leave on loan.
